Geology Hut at Glacier Point
The Milky Way rises over the Geology Hut exhibit at Glacier Point, Yosemite National Park. The green and purple colored bands in the sky are called airglow- it's a similar phenomenon to aurora borealis, except that with aurora, the chemical particles come from solar flares, and with air glow, the cause is radiation and chemical reactions from within our own atmosphere.
